Hi all, In my search for a ac/dc tig welder of 200 plus amps and a 15 amp plug (240v) i have found it a bit difficult to narrow down a final 1.. Possible at the top of the tree is the fronius 220 (240v) followed behind the kemppi 2300, migomag and a recent addition a brand called Cebora. This is an italian made unit and its called the cebora tig sound ac/dc 2030/m. It is rated at around 200 amps and runs off 15 amp plug (240v). It appears to be decent welder with a lot of features. I was wondering if any one has used this brand and what thoughts they may have about it. It appears to be in the same league as the kemppi 2300. Any info would be greatly appreciated. This is the link www.cebora.it/ing/indexp.htm Dobre

Hi Dobre Somebody who will know for sure are the guys who do welding machine repairs on them.It might take a bit of ringing around.
Personally I don't know about them but talking to the electricians who delve inside these yields good info. For instance not all Italian welding machines are good gear.heard of Telwyn.
They are low end machines and are pos.

Hi Grumpy, Thanks for your reply and i will have to look into it a lot more. I like to look at other brands who are not as well known as kemppi and fronius and see what they have to offer. Sometimes my line of thinking is that because we may not not have heard of them does not mean they are any good. They may be very popular in europe and fair compitiion against the other 2 and this involves a lot of research into them.
There is one store here in Melbourne that where i saw them have them sitting next to the fronius and these are the only welders they sell in the shop. Does that suggest that they regard them highly but not as high as the fronius but it is interesting. The price of the cebora is between 4.5 to 5.0k and this is on par with the kemppi 2300. I want to get a ac/dctig machine of higher quality and my decision is made hard by the similar type of machines available. Warranty and back up service is important when purchasing a welder and the kemppi and fronius mainly offer 1 year parts and labour and the second year parts and no labour or is the other way around. The Cebora has 2 years parts and labour which is really good particularly you are using ac tig at higher amps. The machine is workinh harder than it would be in dc. The fronius is in the high 6k price but you do get great after sales back up and a sales person that will set it up for you at home or work and run through with you for an hour or so. They will come to you if you have any problems when unsure on how to use a certain programe . This is great and you do pay for it in your initial purchase price.
A bit more homework on these welders is needed and maybe i will be able to make a decision.

EWM offer a 3 year warranty on their inverter machine. Don't ask, I don't remember the model. I've also been looking for something and it seems the Kemppi 200w(really 230w)AC/DC inverter for around $4,800 looks good.

Hi and welcome doctorwu, the EWM model i think that you are refering to is the triton 220 ac/dc tig and priced around 5.5k. EWM are fairly new in Australia and are a top shelve unit. Welcome to the forum and great to have you on board. Dobre
